Sinead & Dick Sign Up
Sinead has committed to going dry for Feb March & April . I genuinely am astounded by peoples reaction to this idea. It has restored my faith in humanity ( a little ) anyway ! Dick "the proud Irish soldier" is away in Chad at the moment & is also joining in the fun for Jan. Fair play to ye both. We now have 7 people sober for Jan which is more than I had initially hoped for & many more lined up for throughout the year . The plan was to get one person per month to keep me company but we are way passed that number now . Thanks to all for the continued support. Momentum is gathering . This thing is growing legs.

Good Luck for January
Jamie Teehan Signs Up For January
Considering that this began as a notion in my head only on Christmas Day, the response already has been incredible . There are over thirty people lined up to take part at various stages during the year . Jamie has just gone dry for Jan . Nice one J. Had some kind of grape juice with my dinner instead of wine . Tasted like muck. I think it will just take a while to get my taste buds used to something other than Heineken !
Great start
New Years Day
11.15am . Just woke up on new years day 2010 . No beer for a year , its stark in the cold light of day but fuck it ...... has to be done . Already Ro has been on saying that he will do 100 dry days in support ! Great stuff from the big little man . In fairness , the two bottles of wine , bottle of champagne & two final final beers of 2009 set me up nicely for this barren spell . Compliments to my hosts & long term friends Paul & Elaine for last nights festivities . Incidentally , Paul is giving up the booze for January too . My wife Lyn is going out in suppport too & giving up Chocolate for the year along with Elle. I dont know who will be more spaced out come next Dec. Off now for some brekkie & a walk in the snow !
A Year Without Beer
My name is Gavin Teehan . Seven years ago I discovered that I had testicular cancer . Not the greatest thing in the world for a bloke but thankfully following surgery, radiotherapy & the amazing support of my wife ( Lyn ) family & friends, I came through in good nick . I have decided to give up all alcohol for the year 2010 try to raise a few quid for St. Lukes cancer hospital . I hope to get family & friends to join me in my fast & give up the booze for various months during the year also .
Well its 1.53am on the morning of the 1/1/2010 & Im off the beer 1 hour & 53 mins . Would love a beer ..........stay strong , only a year to go !
