Kennedy Cup

The league presented the players with their Kennedy Cup representative cap on Thursday night .... it was the first time I had seen any of the boys since Limerick .... I couldnt get over how much they had all grown up over the summer .... I really miss the craic with them ...... great footballers but even better lads .........

Champions

The DDSL squad reigned supreme during the recent Kennedy cup ..... beating off the challenge of 31 other leagues to claim an unprecedented 7th title in a row .... It was a rollercoaster of emotion over the week long event ..... six tough & very different styles of games ... but the boys adopted brilliantly to every challenge thrown at them ...... and ultimately deserved to be the outright winners ... I'm proud to have been involved with such a great bunch of players, managment, staff & backround team .... a brilliant experience & one which I will never forget. Watch out for some of these kids ... coming to a professional team near you !!!!

Kennedy Cup

Last session tomorrow before the tournament officially starts on Monday. Meeting in Cabinteely to go through some last minute bits & pieces. The boys have put in a huge amount of effort over the last season to get themselves to a point whereby they now have every chance to win the Kennedy Cup. No one can predict the future but if they play to their full potential , it will take a very good side to beat us. I have been involved with many sides over the years but I am as proud of this bunch of players as I have been of any other team. It's been a pleasure coaching them & I simply hope that I have helped them to improve in their time with me . Many of them have potential professional careers ahead of them & I will follow their progress with keen interest. Watch out for further updates ........

Preperation for the kennedy Cup is in full swing ...... only three weeks to go & lots still to do ...... we are well pleased with the squad so far & how they are progressing ......... looking forward to the challenge .........

Congratulations to the twenty players selected from thousands to represent Dublin in this years Kennedy Cup . It is the biggest tournament in Europe for under 13's & a stepping stone onto the Irish International squad. Official photo taken on Friday night ....... the hard work starts now ! Busy day

Busy day with football .... "A" licence analysis today & last training session before the Blackburn Rovers trip tomorrow ... lads are buzzing ...... really looking forward to what will undoubtedly be a challenge .......

DDSL Kennedy Cup Squad

I'm working with some of the most talented under 13's in the country football wise to get them ready for this years Kennedy Cup . ( cheers Karl ! ) ..... Great bunch of young lads with huge potential . Coaching with my old Bray Wanderers sparring partner , Aido Cairns & learning loads from him on the coaching side . ( Aido holds his UEFA "A" licence )The squad is managed by Eoin Meehan, a really decent guy who I'm getting to know over the last few months . Our main competition is in June ......... will keep you posted .............. GT
